Chalet Arthur is located on the D230, the lower road between the villages of La Chapelle d'Abondance and Chatel, in the area called Lapesse.  There is a regular ski bus service that passes us but a car is required to get around the area. Bearing that in mind there are many ways to reach us. Use this Google map to see exactly where we are located and get directions to us.

Apartment Iris is close to the centre of Chatel. about 5 minutes drive from our house. There are local bus services that pass the door so a car is not essential to a holiday here but we still advise visitors to bring one to take advantage of other attractions in the area.

By Air

Fly to Geneva: there are up to 40 flights a day from the UK including many by Easyjet. Car hire on the Swiss or French side of the airport puts you 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours from our properties, generally at a reasonable cost. Taxi transfers can be arranged through many internet based companies. (Get a quote here for a transfer)   There are also trains from the airport to Aigle in Switzerland twice an hour which then gives you a shorter 1/2 hour taxi ride to Chatel, or friends can pick you up if you are travelling separately.

By Road

We are almost exactly 500 miles(800 km) from Calais which can be done legally in 8 - 9 hours. With ferry prices as low as £60 return and some airlines charging for skis this can be a good option. We can recommend routes and stopping points.
